my art teacher made me really dig deep today into my soul and emotions i dont tend to really express often.
at first i didnt enjoy feeling open, caught off guard, vulnerable.
but afterwards i realised she actually managed to uncover something i had never really known about myself? i love a messy, out of control athstetic, BUT when in process of creating or producing that messy, out of control look, i fail to notice i create it in a strict, control manner.making something look flawed, but that flaw being tailored to every last detail. i may appear to look like i woke up, got dressed in the dark, from clothes off my floor which had been passed down through a family of magpies, shiny sparkley garments. but it takes hours to decide and edit out garments i didnt feel comfortable in!
is theyre a vice, a weakness we all have that perhalps we just havent explored yet?
think about it!
tell me?

go further, push the bar!
gareth pughs a/w 09/10 collection began with an artistic short film displaying items from the collection, with a haunting mix of the shining theme music.
instead of just displaying his collection which is never plain in the first place but to go that step further to present the video, shows just how much he wants it and how far hes willing to go to get there. take a leaf out of gareths book and when it comes to a project, at work, at school in life, just take it that little bit further you never know the benifits could be 15 minutes of fame.

everybody goes to hollywood..
they wanna make it in the neighbour hood.
where in the whole entire world would you go if you wanted to make it big, to get your 15 minutes or more of fame?
HOLLYWOOD of course look how many stars have made the switch from either the UK or new york etc, to name a few victoria beckham, amy winehouse and rachel zoe.
these stars picked up there lives and moved to the city of angels, but the thing is with hollywood , noones an angel, everyones in it to win it. wether it be the thousands of budding actors serving your food, the singers, busking on the streets of venice beach or the dancers working in strip clubs just to pay the rent. its a dirty place, but the thing is if you want it badly enough, you'll get yourselve covered from head to toe in mud.
the reason they call it the fame game is because its a race, a race to the top and if you want it sooooo badly you'll step on whoever you have to to get there, BUT theres a better way of doing things, work hard have tons and tons of enthusiasim and ambition but try and be a friendly cutious person on the way the only thing you can do is make friends and friends can only improve your chances of excelling. network, be friendly you never know you might end up just being friendly to the right person a director a producer, whatever and landing a nice job.
but the only place to truly make it, is hollywood if you want it that bad, save, work hard and make the move. do it honest you wont regret it.
BUT
the only thing i want to make clear, is
BELIEVE! believe in yourelf, and others around you that the best peice of advice and the one thing that will truly make you famous.

plastic fantastic!
"i love los angeles, i love hollywood, everybodys plastic, but i love plastic, i want to be plastic."
andy warhol.
everybody has a flaw, a demon, something they just don't like about themselves, it's just some people decide to fix them and others live with them. and the ones who live with them are the very ones to critisise those who fix them. people are facinating, and watching the people who go so far, exstreme plastic surgery are deemed freaks by those who hate themselves. plastic surgery, a topic seen as taboo to discuss in recent years has became a claim to fame now, stars such as katie price, jodie marsh and others will openly discuss there nips and tucks they under go, creating a front page headline in glossy gossip mags, giving the star in question their 15 minutes of fame. but personally, myself, i find the stars who under go exstreme transformations are far more exciting to read about or look at. people including micheal jackson, madonna and the one i find most facinating, amanda lepore. surgically transformed from a run of the mill, average american genetic male, she now resembles a mix of hollywood starlets such as lana turner, marilyn monroe, jane mansfeild and fictional sexpot jessica rabbit. she may be considered a freak, but isnt that just because she stands out, people are like moving, breathing art people shouldnt look the same they should express themselves in a free uninhibeted manner. im not suggesting every person should go book themselves some form of drstic surgery to change ones appearence but express oneselve through clothing, hair, make-up and mannerisms.
go on try it,
be free, be expressive but above it all be true to yourselve.

what happened to glamour?
I was out last night to a club, and i realised noone really dresses to impress.
of course you have the sort of cliques that dress similar wether it be the slutty cheryl cole wannabes, emo/scene types with the 2005 fringe and a range of disasterous fashion victims in just simple jeans and t-shirt or plain unflattering dresses. what happened to the studio 54 days where people dressed elaborately in sequins, fur and spandex. free expression and personality played a great part in these peoples wardrobe decisions, but now its all about what someone can get a "squeeze" by flaunting as much skin or muscles as they can.
yukk in my opinion, c'mon ladies and gentlemen and those undecided have fun with what you wear be experimental its not always about getting it right its about having fun and expressing an emotion and evoking emotion from the public.
get out there guys be creative, have FUN!
